Big PageRank Drops

Google has continued it’s PageRank attack on some of the biggest marketing blogs.  Copyblogger and Problogger were both hit recently and went down from PageRank 6 to 4.

There is speculation that this is due to paid links or other forms of linking practice not looked favourably upon by Google.  Many of the sites that have been hit practice network linking between their sites.

Does this really matter anyway?   I doubt that these sites will see a decrease in traffic, it’s maybe just a re-adjustment of the Google Algorithms.  PageRank really isn’t particularly relevant so I doubt any of the owners of these sites are having sleepless nights.

It would be nice if Google let everyone know what is going on instead of leaving them wondering, as is usually the case.  If we knew what was happening everyone would probably learn a lot more and be able to take preventative action against worse scenarios.

Why people so care about their PR? For ads. bargaining? For fame? For Google donation? … Just ignore this irrelevant thing! Concentrate on your own contents and concentrate on your businesses (selling or selling links)! Your efforts will be reflected in the future.
