The Dogs Guide to SEO
Are you a dog? If yes then you are in luck because here is the guide to SEO you have been waiting for. You might have been getting a bit hot under the collar recently about getting better search engine rankings, but don’t worry because here is the number one guide for all canines. Sit Down SIT! for a while and have a good read it will help your search engine rankings.
Firstly, you need to look at what your website is about, is it in a competitive market? Sites about things like sausages, chasing cats and walks are extremely competitive and will be hard to rank well for in google.dog. It may take you around 14 dog years to rank well for a keyword like “cats” whilst working very hard at it.
Sites that rank well in the main search engines of google.dog will have been there for some time, a newer site will be harder to rank.
It’s a good idea then in the beginning to chase the long tail. Now, by this I don’t mean your own tail, don’t go back to old bad habits. Use your website to rank well for longer phrases such as “chasing cats videos and articles”, get lots of key words into your website content. Include your long tail phrases in your title and throughout your site. It’s far easier to rank well for longer phrases and dogs do search for them.
Remember content is master, the better your content the more links you are likely to get from other dogs that own sites and the better the quality and quantity of these links the higher you will rank in the search engines.
If you write a good article then maybe someone will Dogg it. Dogg.dog is a social site where other dogs generate the content. If another dog likes your article then they will Dogg it, the more Doggs your article gets the more people will see it and the more links you may get which will be great for your SEO.
If you’re site is a hardcore cat chasing site you will have a difficult job. Sites like Dogg won’t accept articles about this and many directories won’t accept hardcore cat chasing sites. You have to ask for links from other hardcore cat chasing sites.
Including controversy or very interesting news will often get you links, here is an example of a video that would get a lot of attention.
If you are targeting specific countries it’s a good idea to get a site ending with .dog.uk for example for the UK. This helps in your particular region. Also make sure you get hosting in that country.
Those are a few tips then for you, put some of these things into practice and you will be getting more visitors to your site.
